Fraternity Hosts 18th Annual Sleep-Out for the Homeless
The Delta Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. at WSSU will conduct its 18th annual overnight sleep-out to raise awareness of homelessness in the Piedmont Triad on Nov. 21, beginning at 6 p.m. near the Greek plots on campus.
WSSU Alumnus Gives $25,000 for Scholarships to WSSU
Former State Rep. and WSSU alumnus, Larry Womble, presented Chancellor Donald J. Reaves with a check for $25,000 today. The Endowed Scholarship will benefit full time WSSU students from Forsyth County majoring in Elementary Education.
Many Violent Crimes Related to the Aggressor Feeling Dissed.
Many of the violent acts in today's headlines are the result of the aggressor experiencing rejection in a disrespectful way or, in other words, they have been 'dissed,' according to a WSSU author and researcher.
Internationally Known Attorney to Lecture at WSSU Oct. 30
Theodore M. Shaw, the inaugural Julius L. Chambers Distinguished Professor of Law and director of the UNC Center for Civil Rights at UNC-Chapel Hill, will deliver this year's J. Alston Atkins Memorial Lecture in Constitutional Law at WSSU.
