Events, Workshops and Fairs

Events and workshops are listed on the event calendar which can be accessed by clicking on the Event Calendar link on the left side of the webpage.

Several fairs are hosted throughout the academic year. These Fairs include:

  • Volunteer Service Fair - Fall
  • Career and Cooperative Education Fair—Fall
  • Health Careers Fair—Fall
  • Teachers’ Fair—Spring
  • Part-time and Summer Job Fair - Spring

 

 

On-campus Recruitment: Various corporations visit the campus throughout the year recruiting for internships, cooperative education and full-time employment.  Students are required to create a RAMTRAK account to access positions in the INTERVIEWTRAK section to register for on-campus recruitment opportunities.

 

Experiential Learning Programs: Provide opportunities to gain valuable work experience and academic credit. Co-op: Integrates classroom studies with learning through productive work experiences in a related field to a student’s academic or career goals. Internships: Career-related work experience that provides students an opportunity to gain experience before they graduate. The student works in a professional setting under the supervision of at least one practicing professional.

 

Job Location and Development: 

(Part-time Employment) Students are helped in their search for part-time jobs and summer employment. Staff members identify positions and note specific job requirements. Employers make the final hiring decisions. Only sophomores, juniors and seniors may participate.

 

Student Volunteer Service Program This program operates under the title Project GIVE (Getting Involved through Volunteer Experiences).  Its goal is to encourage all WSSU students, faculty and staff to apply their skills and abilities in assisting community service organizations.  Through Project GIVE, students are able to enrich their academic learning through volunteer service.
