Summer School Applicants
All students are required to have a current FAFSA on file and submit a WSSU Summer Financial Aid Application to receive financial assistance for summer school.
How you apply to Summer School depends on what type of student you are. Select the student type below that best fits you and follow the application instructions listed under the appropriate category in the links to the left of this message. If you are not sure which type of student you are, or if you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Summer School Office at 336-750-2939.
Continuing Student – Currently enrolled at WSSU – no application is necessary, simply consult with your advisor and register for summer courses. Additionally if you are a former WSSU student interested in returning the university to take courses you must pursue re-admission through the Office of the Registrar.
(Continuing Student = Current WSSU students)
Visiting Student – During the summer sessions, students from other colleges and universities may be admitted as summer only students. As a summer only student you may take courses from May – July. Winston-Salem State University assumes no responsibility for determining the student’s course selection when the credits are to be transferred to another institution.
The university will accept applications for summer sessions from high school juniors and seniors who are above average in academic achievement and who have the formal endorsement and permission from their high school principal.
(Visiting Students = Students enrolled in college/university & high school students)
New Undergraduate Student – Students wishing take summer courses and then continue at WSSU for the Fall 2009 semester must complete the university application process. Please contact our Admissions Office for further information.
