Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (M.C.S.T.)

The overall goal of the Master’s degree program in Computer Science and Information Technology is to provide master's level instruction in cutting edge computing technology. The program combines a traditional computer science core with applied courses in information technology and is designed to satisfy the post baccalaureate development of working professionals, offering most courses in the evening. This program develops a skill set for the application of computer technology resources to solve information problems, as well as communication and leadership skills.

Educational Program

The program requires 30-33 semester hours of graduate course work in computer science and information technology. Students will be required to complete a nine-semester hour core in computer science and choose a nine-semester hour concentration in computer science or information technology. Additionally, the student will select 12-15 hours in elective courses that will complete the concentration focus, including: software engineering, database administration, network administration, Internet systems, high performance computing, or computational science/scientific computing.
