Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (CMSTE)
The WSSU Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (CMSTE), established by the 2003 North Carolina General Assembly, is the newest North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN) Center. The mission of the NC-MSEN Program is to strengthen the quality and increase the number of teachers in mathematics and science education and to increase the pool of North Carolina high school graduates prepared to pursue careers requiring mathematics and science.
The WSSU CMSTE began its Network activities in 2004 with the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program. The CMSTE is a department in the College of Arts and Sciences. The center consists of two components: The Professional Development Center and The MSEN Pre-College Program.
