Department of Human Performance and Sport Sciences

The Department of Human Performance and Sport Sciences at Winston-Salem State University provides instructional opportunities for the university community in health, sports studies, therapeutic recreation, and rehabilitation studies.  At the undergraduate level, Bachelor of Science degrees are offered in Exercise Science, Motorsport Management, Rehabilitation Studies, Sport Management, and Therapeutic Recreation. Additionally, minors are offered in recreation, rehabilitation studies, coaching, and sports medicine. The department also provides a service program of required and elective offerings for all WSSU students.  It is the goal of the HPSS Department to prepare individuals to be productive citizens and employees within their chosen career path and greater community.
