Are You Ready?

Are you ready to shift gears into one of the hottest fields in the country?  Winston-Salem State University invites you to pursue a career in Motorsport Management, our newest and most exciting major.

Ranked among the Top Public Comprehensive Colleges in the South for six consecutive years in the bachelor’s category, WSSU is the only 4-year university in the country and the only Historically Black College and University to offer a Bachelor of Science degree program in Motorsport Management; a unique opportunity you’ll receive to “learn the business, and grow the sport.” With plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience throughout the curriculum, your studies within this major will prepare you for entry-level positions in Motorsport Operations, Motorsport Marketing, and Event Planning. WSSU has built great relationships with many racing venues.  A required internship in the motorsports field will provide you with experiential learning and serve as an avenue for enhanced career placement.

The motorsports industry, and fan base, is growing by leaps and bounds. One study indicated motorsports generated a total of 24,406 jobs in 2003 for the state economy of North Carolina.  Within the many forms of racing, NASCAR, in particular, has become a powerful sport business in the global marketplace.
