Three WSSU Staff Members Earn Certifications

April 6, 2011
Three members of the facilities operations at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) have completed requirements for certifications in their respective professional areas.

Allen Brown, facilities director, has earned his Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) designation through the Association of Facilities Engineering.  The CPMM credential was designed to demonstrate the professional experience and knowledge required to successfully perform plant and facilities supervisory activities.

Brenda Fulmore, coordinator for the university’s Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) program, has received accreditation as a purchasing practitioner from the Institute for Supply Management, Inc.

Nasser Massry, university engineer, has completed the work necessary to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified.  Administered by the Green Building Certification Institution, the LEED professional credentials provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of environmentally sound buildings that are high-performance, durable and affordable.
