WSSU Promotes Public Service, Office of Career Development Services to Host Spring Volunteer Fair January 26th
When: January 26th, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where: Thompson Student Services Center, Room 207 B & C, on the Winston-Salem State
University (WSSU) Campus
Who: More than 23 community service organizations from the Winston-Salem/ Forsyth
County area will participate, including:
-Big Brother/ Big Sister of Forsyth County -Mineral Springs Elementary
-Brenner Children’s Hospital -Mt. Zion's "YEEP"
-Cancer Services -NMDP-Be the Match Registry
-City of Winston-Salem -Samaritan Ministries
-Exchange Scan -Transformed Lives, Inc.
-Family Service, Inc. -Visit Winston-Salem
-Girl Scout Carolina -W. R. Anderson Recreation Center
-Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County -WSSU School of Education & Human Performances
-HandsOn Northwest North Carolina -Work Family Resource Center
-Heavenly Inspirations -YMCA Child Care Services
-Ibraham Elementary School -YMCA Literacy Initiative
-Konnoak Elementary School
What: Local community organizations will visit campus to share community service volunteer opportunities with WSSU students, faculty and staff members. WSSU’s strategic plan, which was presented by Chancellor Donald J. Reaves last year, includes the university’s commitment to strengthening the local community through outreach and engagement, which includes community service.
