WSSU Chancellor's Search Committee to Host Forums
The Chancellor's Search Committee will host three forums this week to allow for input into the search process including a forum for the community and alumni on Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in Room 100 of the Donald Julian Reaves Student Activities Center on campus.
Parking on campus will be available for the Thursday forum in Lot U adjacent to the R. J. Reynolds Center, Lot T adjacent to Diggs Gallery on the lower level of the O'Kelly Library, and Lot V adjacent to the Hall-Patterson Building. Also, community members and alumni will be able to participate via teleconference by calling 888-422-7141 and using participant code 457471.
Additional forums will be held on Wednesday, April 30, for the campus with the faculty/staff forum at 2 p.m. and the student forum at 7 p.m. both in Room 100 of the Center.
The forums are designed to gain input into the characteristics the various constituent groups believe should be important when the Search Committee begins reviewing applications for the chancellor position.
Dr. Ludovic Kovalik, chair of the WSSU Faculty Senate and a member of the Search Committee, is chairing the subcommittee arranging the forums. Other members of the Search Committee will serve as moderators for the three events. Gordon Everett, president of the WSSU National Alumni Association, will moderate the community and alumni event; Kovalik and LaTonya Amos, president of the Staff Senate, will moderate the forum for their two groups; and Bryant Bell, president of the WSSU Student Government Association will moderate the student forum.
