Short-Term Program Development
Course Proposal Procedure
We appreciate your interest in participating in a program abroad, and we look forward to working with you through the initial preparation stage. As a faculty member, you may serve abroad in various capacities, including teaching a course (or courses) and/or directing a program. If the course(s) you wish to teach is/are new, then you must submit a course proposal; if the program is new, you are to submit a program proposal. Both application instruments and all accompanying materials should be submitted to International Programs according to this schedule by August 15 (for summer and fall programs) and December 1 (for fall programs). To ensure timely approval and preparation of related promotional material, we ask that you discuss with OIP your plans for serving abroad ahead of the deadlines.
NB: Course development, selection, or offerings are primarily departmental matters, so we urge you to discuss the options with your chairpersons first. Upon approval of the International Programs Committee, the application will be forwarded to the Curriculum and Development Committee.
