Faculty Development Opportunities

Atkins, Gleason, Carew Fellowship
This fellowship is meant to supplement international research funding for junior faculty with tenure-track appointment and at least two years' service at WSSU. Applicants should demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Knowledge of a local language and culture of the community of experience
  • Evidence of promising and commendable instructional practices and research experience
  • Commitment to curriculum development, teaching, and student mentoring; and an undertaking to prepare a program evaluation and report, and share program outcomes through a publication, presentations and/or performances

International Faculty Development Seminars Abroad - CIEE
The specially designed seminars include lectures, site visits, and discussions with overseas academics and colleagues. Participants return to campus poised to incorporate an international dimension into administration, course design, research, and teaching.

Opportunities for Professionals to teach in Africa for one year

Fulbright Program
Opportunities to lecture or conduct research abroad

Andrew Haskell Awards for Innovation in International Education designed to foster innovative ideas that will help international professionals create and sustain new opportunities for students and faculty, to bring international education to the forefront of education policy, and to stimulate public awareness of the benefits of study abroad and international educational exchange.
