The Office of Continuing Education, Noncredit Programming, offers certificate programs and personal and professional development noncredit courses, which reflect and anticipate the changing nature of society. Courses require no special University admission status and are regularly scheduled to meet the needs of groups or individuals.

  • Certificate Programs Certificate Programs offer discipline-specific courses that can assist potential students who may want to acquire new skills for professional advancement or for a career transition. Several certificate courses are offered online.
  • Professional Certificate Modules The Professional Certificate Modules addresses the needs of the working professional. Our programs specifically designed by Winston-Salem State University professors, provide professional development opportunities in the areas of business, health sciences, and education. These courses are for non-degree continuing education credit. Several certificate courses may be offered online.
  • Educational Academy  The Educational Academy houses and provides year-round opportunities to develop new skills, expand interest in new and exciting topics, learn job skills or enjoy enriching sessions in the arts or education. Classes are designed for all ages and include areas of language acquisition, professional and business development, basic education, and personal enrichment.

  • Professional Partnerships Series  –  The Professional Partnership Series are partnerships with approved external educational and continuing education vendors, whose purpose is to offer both face-to-face and online open enrollment programs designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional level positions and certifications for many in-demand occupations, such as, informational technology (IT), paralegal, real estate, and medical billing and coding.
  • Continuing Education Financial Assistance Programs Winston Salem State University’s Office of Continuing Education supports several financial assistance programs that can assist adult learners with their lifelong learning financial obligations.
