Military Services

Winston-Salem State University is committed to the success of our military and veteran student population. The mission of the Office of Military Services is to assist veterans, active duty service members, guardsmen, reservists, and dependents in making a successful transition into our University. Our goal is to help these students in a number of capacities including counseling and advising on benefits, academic and admissions advising, and career transition. Few schools have a dedicated staff to help transition from a military environment to college life and WSSU is proud to be able to assist our military population in any way!

You may be eligible for Federal Veterans Education Benefits if you served in the U.S. Armed Forces on active duty, or if you are the dependent of a veteran whose death was service- related, or if you are the dependent of a veteran whose 100% disability is service related. You may learn more about the U.S. Armed Forces Veterans Benefits at their website.
