
Committees

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall be composed of elected officers and a representative from each of the following staff groups: Administrative/Managerial; Professional; Technical/ Paraprofessional; Clerical & Secret; and Skilled Crafts and Service/Maintenance. The Executive Committee shall conduct such business as comes before it between monthly Staff Senate meetings and shall report such action(s) to the full Staff Senate during its monthly meetings.
Nominating Committee
This committee shall be appointed by the President at least 30 days prior to the election of officers at the end of every two years.
Ways & Means Committee
The Ways & Means Committee shall be responsible for the development of any and all fundraising projects for the Staff Senate. The full Staff Senate and the appropriate administrators of the university must approve all projects prior to implementation. The Treasurer-Elect shall serve as chair. The committee shall be composed of at least seven members.
Education Committee
The Education Committee shall be responsible for the development and implementation of educational activities in conjunction with the staff development officer of the university. The President-Elect shall chair the committee.
Employee Recognition Committee
The Employee Recognition Committee is responsible for programs designed to boost morale and/or recognize employees for outstanding accomplishment in the workplace. Representatives from this committee shall work with, or become a part of, any existing committees performing the same or similar functions on behalf of the university.
Publications and Information Committee
The Publications and Information Committee shall develop, for publishing, a Staff Senate newsletter. Format, logos, articles, etc. must be submitted to the Office of Marketing & Communications for review and/or recommendations and returned to the Publications and Information Committee for presentation to the full Staff Senate for approval prior to publishing.
Workplace Improvement Committee
The Workplace Improvement Committee shall be responsible for gathering information regarding workplace improvement recommendations and/or questions that are not addressed by employee grievance policies and procedures and present same recommendations and/or questions to the Executive Committee for consideration and approval prior to submitting to the Chancellor for discussion and/or action. The committee shall be chaired by the Parliamentarian and composed of at least twelve additional members.
Amenities and Social Committee
The Amenities and Social Committee shall keep the membership informed of illness and/or death of fellow staff members. This committee shall also be responsible for coordinating social activities sponsored by the organization. The committee shall be composed of at least seven members elected by the membership. The Amenities and Social Committee members shall elect the chair from within the committee.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee shall maintain and publish a roster of SPA and EPA non-faculty employees. The committee shall also serve as the welcoming arm of the Staff Senate. In this role, the committee shall develop and present to the Staff Senate, for approval, an information packet to be presented to each new staff member. The Vice President shall serve as chair.
