Who can host an event at the Anderson Conference Center?
Academic and administrative units of the University as well as external groups and organizations are eligible to use the Anderson Conference Center. Winston-Salem State University administrators, student organizations, faculty and staff are not required to pay facility space rental for authorized university conferences, meetings, or university-sponsored activities.

Is there a discount for non-profit, alumni, faculty and staff?
No, discounts are not available. A fee waiver may be issued if the university (students, staff, and faculty) will benefit through the marketing and promotion of the event.

What spaces/rooms can be rented in the ACC?
Rooms and spaces that are available are: McNeil Banquet Hall, Main Dining Room, Chancellor's Private Dining Room, Dillard Auditorium, and K.R. Williams Auditorium.

May I host a memorial service, wedding, or other private ceremony in the ACC?
Yes, these types of events may be hosted at the ACC. Follow the standard Policies and Rates for room reservation and rental.

How far in advance of my event date can I reserve space in the ACC?
You may request a reservation for the ACC up to one year in advance. Once you provide a signed contract and deposit, your reservation will be confirmed. Please review our Policies and Rates section for details.

Is there a discount for booking multiple events in the ACC?
No, there is no discount. Our rates are very competitive with other comparable conference facilities and services.

What are the room rental fees at the ACC?
ACC room rental fees vary according to the event sponsor and length of event. Additional charges may be applicable for facilities, housekeeping, and custom room set-up requests. Our updated Policies and Rates provide a full explanation of ACC rental charges.

Who will staff my event in the ACC?
You must provide a key contact person to work with us in coordinating your event. In addition, an onsite event attendant will be available before and during the event to serve your event's audiovisual needs. Room set-ups and breakdowns are coordinated with the housekeeping and catering departments. You are also responsible for contracting and coordinating catering. Does ACC provide tables and chairs, audiovisual equipment, set-up assistance, etc.?
Depending on the size of your event and the space in which it will be held, either the ACC Coordinator or Video & Classroom Technology staff will provide the appropriate equipment and set-up assistance. Please see detailed information in Equipment Rental. The ACC Coordinator will advise you of the various options based upon your event needs. We will notify you of any additional charges that may be incurred as a result of special requests. You are responsible for the additional fees and charges associated with all equipment.

Is parking available and how do I arrange additional parking for large conferences at the ACC?
Parking is available at the ACC and is included with room rental. For information about special parking assistance, downloadable parking maps, and other parking and transportation matters, please contact WSSU Campus Police at 336.750.2900 http://www.wssu.edu/WSSU/About/Information/Maps.htm.

What is the reservation and cancellation policy?
You may reserve a date, if available, up to one year in advance. You can confirm the date by providing a contract and deposit. Once a date is confirmed, you may cancel your reservation at least 91 days in advance of your event without incurring a penalty. Cancellations must be made in writing or via e-mail to the ACC. If you cancel your booking between 90 - 31 days prior to your event, you will be charged 50% of the fees for all facilities requested. Cancellations made within fourteen (14) days of the event will be charged the full rental rate. Please be aware that other contracted service providers, such as catering, may have separate and different cancellations policies. Please review our Policies and Rates section for details.

Do I have to use the University's catering service?
The University has contracted with Aramark Dining Services to provide all food service to the University. Groups planning to sponsor events in the Anderson Conference Center involving any food service must notify the Reservations Office of that fact at the time the reservation is made. What is the ACC alcoholic beverage policy?
Functions serving beer, wine, champagne, or spirituous liquor are required to purchase the Center's Special Occasions Permit. Please see detailed information in Additional Fees and Services.

What is the ACC ticket office policy (can I print and sell my own tickets)?
The University must print all tickets. There is a 3.5% Box office Fee plus an additional 3% fee for any credit card charges. The University will provide Ticket Takers and Ticket Sellers at a minimal fee. Whenever tickets are sold or money collected at an event, Police services are required.

Can I decorate?
All decorations must be approved by the ACC in advance and preferably at the time of the reservation. The use of any combustible materials, including (among others) crepe paper, streamers, leaves, trees, moss, hay, straw, etc., is prohibited. Decorations may not be attached in any manner to walls, drapes, furnishings, doors or windows. Glitter or confetti may not be utilized in decorating.

Our experienced, professional and courteous staff can help you set event goals from conceptualizing the program to evaluation. We can provide you with a list of reputable local vendors from florists to musicians to ensure that your event is a success.

Why do I need an event attendant and housekeeper?
For the safety and well being of all our campus guests, we require event attendants, housekeepers and security for events that meet certain criteria (size of venue, estimated attendance, etc.). All staff are University employees.
