The Office of University Engagement provides support for the institution and its priorities through alumni, government and community relations initiatives as well as marketing and communications. Our goal is to broaden awareness of Winston-Salem State University among key constituencies and elevate the level of support WSSU receives from the public, alumni, faculty, staff and students.
The Office of Alumni Relations seeks to engage alumni and friends through publications, electronic communications, events and programs that make sure this important group is aware of the vision, goals and strategic direction of the university.
The Office of Government and Community Relations fosters collaboration within the community through services and programs that address community needs and provide additional resources to the community while also enriching the learning experiences of our students. It also seeks to build relationships with elected officials at the local, state and national level on issues of importance to the success of our students and the future of our institution.
The Office of Integrated Marketing Communications works to extend internal and external awareness of the university through high-quality print and electronic communications. This staff is also charged with ensuring the overall continuity and consistency of the university's brand.
A commitment to service and community engagement has characterized WSSU since its founding in 1892. It remains a priority today; in fact, the third goal in WSSU's 2010-2015 Strategic Plan focuses on community engagement.
