Students

Distance Learning Students

Per semester payment of $60.  Membership is paid in full for one semester.  Distance-learning students must be validated before submitting their membership application.  If student has proof that he or she has paid the FULL Student Activities Fee, the student will have membership.  If the student has proof that he or she has paid the PARTIAL fee, the student is eligible for a $30 per semester rate.  Membership must be paid by cash or credit/debit card.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership may be renewed each semester following the first day of class.   Prorated fees will not apply. EPA and SPA employees taking advantage of University benefits are not eligible for distance-learning student membership.

Option 1: Full-time Students*

Membership is paid in full by the Student Activities Fee assessed in tuition.  Membership is non-transferable.  Membership is active as long as full-time student status applies.

* defined as ≥ 12 hours for undergraduate students and ≥ 9 for graduate students


Option 2: Part-time Students**

Per semester payment of $30.  Membership is paid in full for one semester.  Part-time students must be validated before submitting their membership application.  Membership must be paid by cash or credit/debit card.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership may be renewed each semester following the first day of class.   Prorated fees will not apply. EPA and SPA employees taking advantage of University benefits are not eligible for part-time student membership.

Option 3: Student Household Member

Per semester payment of $40.  Membership is paid in full for one semester for one member of a student's household.  Membership must be paid by cash or credit/debit card.  This option requires a student sponsor.  The household member must be at least 16 years of age, with valid proof of household residency such as a bill with the same address as the student sponsor. 

Each student is limited to one household membership.  The student sponsor must be enrolled and validated as a full-time student to sponsor a household member.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership must be renewed each semester following the first day of class.  Prorated fees will not apply.

Faculty/ Staff***

Option 4 (self): 

One time annual payment of $150.  Membership is paid in full for one calendar year (12 months).  This option results in an annual savings of $30.  Membership may be paid by cash or credit/debit card.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership must be renewed annually. 


Option 5 (self):

Monthly payments of $15. Membership is paid monthly through payroll deduction. (Please see notes on payroll deduction below)****.  The first month may be paid by cash or credit/debit card. Prorated fees will not apply. The monthly membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Membership is automatically renewed and monthly payroll deduction continues unless membership is changed or cancelled. Cancellation must occur 30 days prior to the effective cancellation period.


Option 6 (self):

Payments in three month increments may be paid for by cash or credit/debit card. Membership is $45 for 3 months, $90 for 6 months and $135 for 9 months.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

 


 

Option 7 (plus 1 household member):

One time annual payment of $250.  Membership is paid in full for one calendar year (12 months) for the faculty/staff and one member of his or her household for one year.  This option results in an annual savings of $50.  The household member must be at least 16 years of age, with valid proof of household residency such as a bill with the same address as the sponsoring member.  Membership may be paid by cash, or credit/debit card.  The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership must be renewed annually. A change in the household member requires a new membership agreement.


Option 8 (plus 1 household member):

Monthly payments of $25.  Membership is paid monthly through payroll deduction. The membership fee covers the faculty/staff member and one member of his or her household for the months deduction occurs.  (Please see notes on payroll deduction below).**** The first month may be paid by cash or credit/debit card.  Prorated fees will not apply. The household member must be at least 16 years of age, with valid proof of household residency such as a bill with the same address as the sponsoring member. The monthly membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Membership is automatically renewed and monthly payroll deduction continues unless membership is changed or cancelled. Cancellation must occur 30 days prior to the effective cancellation period. A change in the household member requires a new membership agreement.

Option 9: (plus 1 household member):

Payments in 3 month increments for faculty/staff plus 1 household member age 16 or older may be made by cash or credit/debit card.  Membership is non-refundable and non-transferable. Membership is $75 for 3 months, $150 for 6 months, and $225 for 9 months. 


WSSU Temporary Staff/ Visiting Faculty/ Follett, Xerox and Aramark Employees

Option 10:

Monthly payments of $15.  Membership is paid monthly by cash or credit/debit card.  Payroll deduction is not an option.  This option requires a departmental or company sponsorship.  Membership eligibility will be verified on a monthly basis by the company or department in which the employee works.  The monthly membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Prorated fees will not apply.


Non-Summer School Student/Non-Summer School plus 1 Household Member/ Additional Household Member for Faculty/ Staff

Option 11 (may include 1 household member):

Monthly payments of $12 per person.  Membership is paid monthly in June, July and August by cash or credit/debit card.  Students not enrolled in summer school are eligible for this membership if enrolled in the previous semester. The student household member will be offered the same summer membership rate as the student. The additional household member for faculty/staff must be sponsored by a valid UREC Member. The student sponsor must have a valid membership. The monthly membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Prorated fees will not apply.

 

****Payroll Deduction:  Permanent EPA and SPA Employees are eligible for Payroll Deduction.  

Payroll Deduction paperwork is processed a month (20 days) in advance in the Payroll Department to reflect in the next check. 

Payroll Deduction before the 10th of the month

  • if you sign up for payroll deduction before the 10th of the month and want to start your membership in the current month, you must pay for the current month. Which this month (January), we are running a $5 off first month special.  You will only need to pay $10 (self) or $20 (plus household) when you turn in the paperwork.
  • if you sign up for payroll deduction before the 10th of the month and want to start the following month, no payment is due when you turn in the paperwork.

 

Payroll Deduction after the 10th of the month-

  • if you sign up for payroll deduction after the 10th of the month and want to start your membership the same month, you must pay for the current month and the following month . Which this month (January), we are running a $5 off first month special.  You will only need to pay $25 (self) or $45 (plus household) when you turn in the paperwork (this includes the $10 (self) or $20 (plus household) for January and $15 (self) or $25 (plus household) for February).
  • if you sign up for payroll deduction after the 10th of the month and want to start the following month, you must pay for the following month. Which this month (January), we are running a $5 off first month special.  You will only need to pay $10 (self) or $20 (plus household) for the month of February when you turn in the paperwork.
