Student Health Insurance

In August 2009, the UNC Board of Governors approved the implementation of a 'hard waiver' student health insurance requirement on all sixteen 4-year campuses beginning in fall 2010.  The term hard waiver means any student meeting three specific criteria is required to show evidence of an existing 'credible coverage' health insurance policy OR enroll in the UNC system-wide plan.

Deadlines for Waiver/Enroll:
Fall Semester: September 10, 2013
Spring Semester: January 31, 2014

Voices of Meningitis

Get your immunization against Meningitis!

School nurses have joined together as Voices of Meningitis to reach parents with an important message: although rare, meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that includes meningitis (the inflammation of the protective layer surrounding the brain and spinal cord) and septicemia (blood poisoning) which can potentially cause death or disability of an otherwise healthy teen within just 1 day.
