Sara Jones, Ph.D.
Dr. Jones' laboratory is mainly focused on measuring monoamine (dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine) neurotransmitters in several different animal models of drug and alcohol abuse. The two primary techniques used are cyclic voltammetry and microdialysis. We have current projects examining the consequences of chronic exposure to cocaine, alcohol, methamphetamine, ritalin and speedball.
Dr. Jones has ongoing collaborations with Dr. David Roberts concerning the neurobiological consequences of cocaine self-administration and with Dr. Jeff Weiner concerning the impact of ritalin treatment on alcohol self administration in rats.
