Weiling Zhao, Ph.D.
Dr. Zhao's focus is the understand the mechanism(s) involved in radiation-induced normal tissue injury, including chronic oxidative stress, inflammation, signal transduction, extracellular matrix modulation and antioxidant defenses.
Her research will identify and test the potential compounds, which can mitigate the radiation-induced damage of kidney and CNS; to provide rationales for clinicians to design and develop interventional therapeutic approaches in the treatment of radiation-induced late normal tissue injury.
