WSSU Archives E-Reference
The Archives E-Reference is an online reference service provided by the Winston-Salem State University Archives to answer patron questions concerning university history and the archive's general holdings. Please view the "Frequently Asked Questions" page for typical enquiries made by patrons.
The Archives staff will attempt to answer all queries promptly but please be mindful of the following:
- We receive reference queries in multiple formats (in person, via email, standard mail and fax) but we try to give all inquiries the same attention.
- Due to staffing constraints we are unable to conduct extensive research, compile statistical data or copy large amounts of material. Patrons are invited to the Archives to do their own research or to contact staff about hiring an independent research proxy.
- Requests from Winston-Salem State University faculty, students, staff and alumni receive first priority.
- In order for the Archives to provide the best service to patrons, we ask that you make an appointment in advance if you are doing research on-site.
