Ms. Bethany Bonner
My matriculation at Winston-Salem State University has been a great experience and has afforded me opportunities that I would have missed out on had I not been a student at this prestigious university. I have been involved in a plethora of activities and organizations, on campus and in the community, that have propelled me to be the student I am today.
I am a member of the Lumina Learning Community, Honors Program, and marched with the WSSU Marching Band: "Red Sea of Sound" for three years. I am a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Scholar, and have served as a tutor through this program and the University College. I work on campus as a tutor and mentor for the North Carolina- Math and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN), training middle school and high school minority students to excel in mathematics and sciences.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my little sister with whom I volunteer my time through Big Brothers/Big Sisters Incorporated. I am a member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, in which I have served numerous leadership positions, including Treasurer, Vice-President, and Dean of Pledges.
I will be attending Howard University College of Pharmacy in the fall of 2009. I feel that my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry earned here at WSSU has well suited me for the task set before me. I have had a supportive faculty in the Life Sciences department and I look forward to living out my aspirations of becoming a Pediatric Pharmacist, and representing my soon to be Alma Mater of Winston-Salem State University with great distinction and pride.
