Last summer, 2007, I participated in the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program at Duke University where I took rigorous courses in organic chemistry, mathematics, and physics. I also shadowed doctors throughout the hospital.
This summer, 2008, I was accepted into the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Georgia and the Summer Pre-Graduate Research Experience (SPGRE) Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. I have decided to attend the UNC-Chapel Hill SPGRE Program, where Professor Ilona Jaspers in Toxicology will serve as my faculty research preceptor. SPGRE will begin Sunday, May 18, 2008 and conclude on Saturday, July 26, 2008. I have high expectations that this experience will be a rewarding one for me.
