
Mr. James E. Armstrong, Jr.
Associate Director of Bands/ Instructor of Music
James Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Music Education degree from Jackson State University. Mr. Armstrong has taught instrumental and general music in North Carolina public schools as well as serving as Graduate Assistant teaching applied trumpet while attending Jackson State University. He is active in the MENC: National Association for Music Education, International Association of Jazz Educators and the North Carolina Music Educators Association. Mr. Armstrong is currently pursuing his D.M.A. degree in instrumental performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Armstrong’s teaching responsibilities in the fine arts area involve teaching applied trumpet and French horn, music theory and sight singing, assist with marching band and jazz ensemble II and conduct the brass ensemble.
