Human Performance and Sports Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Human Performance and Sport Sciences!
The Department of HPSS at Winston-Salem State University provides instructional opportunities for the university community in health, sports studies, therapeutic recreation, and rehabilitation studies. At the undergraduate level, Bachelor of Science degrees are offered in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Motorsport Management, Rehabilitation Studies, Sport Management, and Therapeutic Recreation. Additionally, minors are offered in recreation, coaching, and sports medicine. The department also provides a service program of general education offerings for all WSSU students.
It is the goal of the HPSS Department to prepare individuals to be productive citizens and employees within their chosen career path and greater community. The HPSS faculty and staff are committed to providing quality educational experiences for students. Therefore, graduates from our programs can look forward to rewarding careers or graduate school opportunities.
