Multi-Media Technology Services (MMTS) provides technical support for multi-media technologies used for campus instruction, teleconferencing, distance learning and university programs.

Provide technical expertise to campus faculty, students, administration and staff for the selection, acquisition and utilization of multi-media instructional technologies. Provide operational and technical support video-interactive/teleconference facilities on campus. Provide technical support for campus multimedia technology systems in instructional spaces.

Classroom Instructional Technology Support

  • MMTS provides technical assistance with the development, design and installation of multi-media systems for campus instructional and administrative spaces.
  • Coordinate and technical support for operation of campus multi-media systems.


Video-interactive Facilities / Distance Learning Support

Operation of the WSSU/NCREN TeleClass/Conference Facility in Anderson Center G-22 (John and Lillian Lewis Microelectronics Center) which provides two-way video interaction with participants at remote sites throughout North Carolina, the United States and the world via North Carolina Research & Education Network (NCREN).  Coordinates scheduling of all campus video-interactive facilities with remote network sites (NCREN).  Provides technical and scheduling support for other campus video-interactive web based systems (SKYPE and ZOOM).  Provides technical and production support for WSSU Distance Learning courses.

All program information must be provided before confirmation can be completed and network time can be scheduled.

To assess interest in potential courses and to ensure maximum enrollment at remote sites, faculty should collaborate with their colleagues at other

institutions to generate interest in a course before the scheduling process begins.

Digital Signage

MMTS provides coordination and technical support of  video displays in campus public areas for announcement, events, schedules and other campus related information.

Multi-media Support

Provide technical assistance with campus audio/video equipment and coordination of multi-media technology for instruction and special projects.  Including live streaming and recording.

WSSU Campus Cable Television

Operation of the campus cable headend in Anderson Center C114A for three Campus Cable Channels.

  • Channel 6: Campus Bulletin Board for campus events and announcements.
  • Channel 69-1: RAMTV Student produced programming.
  • Channel 69-2: Academic & Administrative Access.

Winston-Salem State University has two interactive rooms which provide two-way interactive video and audio, three control rooms and 1 office suite.
