Loan Service Location: Anderson Center C114
The Short-Term Loan Service is located in Anderson Center C114. Portable multi-media equipment is available for short term loan to current WSSU faculty, staff and students. Please note computers and iPads/tablets are for faculty and staff checkout only.
The loan period may not exceed four days without special permission. Clients should return equipment in timely manner so that we may accommodate as many clients as possible. If you find that you need to keep an item longer than anticipated, please notify our office as soon as possible. You must receive approval by MMTS to extend scheduled return time. Overdue loans will be submitted to campus police for retrieval.
Limits on number of loan items
Multiple items can be checked out per loan but there is limit of one type (laptop, projector, camera, etc) of equipment item per check-out. Multiple items of the same type can be checked out by faculty and staff for group use pending pre-approval.
Damaged, Missing, or Stolen Equipment
All equipment and accessories must be returned in acceptable working order. If equipment is damaged or missing, the responsible person and/or department may be charged for repairs or replacement.
Distribution and Use of Equipment
All equipment is for use by WSSU faculty and staff and authorized students only for purpose of classes, meetings, sponsored programs and university activities. This includes all campus affiliates and organizations. Students must present valid WSSU IDs before obtaining the equipment. All equipment must be signed out and in using the appropriate form. Equipment is not available for non-WSSU individuals, institutions, or agencies.
Individual equipment loans are on a first come, first served basis. Advanced reservations can be made by University units and organizations with prior approval by IT. If needed training in the use of any equipment must be scheduled well in advance of use.
All equipment must be picked up or returned between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday except for official university holidays. Do not leave equipment outside of the office door or with a third party. Responsibility for all loan items remain with individual that checked out the equipment.
All equipment except cameras must be turned off after use or when not being used for periods of a half-hour or more. You are responsible for communicating this information to your guest lecturers or students in your class who may use the equipment.
Do not leave documents or non-standard programs on the computer. Any unauthorized software or document left on loan service computers is subject to deletion at any time.
