Dr. Shanté P. Williams is a Venture Capitalist, Inventor, Intellectual Property Strategist, Innovation Enthusiast, and Private Investor. She is the Founder of RW Capital Partners, an investment firm specializing in commercial real estate and technology development and the Chief Investment Officer of Black Pearl Global Investments.
Dr. Williams is committed to ensuring that communities of color have access to sound business advice, attain superior business and financial acumen, and have the right team behind them to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. As the head of RW Capital Partners and Black Pearl uses her technical and financial background to help local entrepreneurs gain access to capital, combat gentrification, build generational wealth and become an integral part of the digital economy. To date, Dr. Williams has helped to build more than two dozen businesses and provides working capital to businesses in the Charlotte area.
Dr. Williams is a proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University (BS, Chemistry), The Ohio State University (PhD, in Integrated Biomedical Science specializing in Neuro-Oncology and Pharmacology), Queen’s University of Charlotte (MBA).
Dr. Williams has spent the past 10 years developing and designing impactful technologies that will enhance the lives of others, including a novel treatment for the spreading of malignant brain tumors, a cardiac monitoring device, and leading-edge technology in the electric vehicle battery industry. Dr. Williams is the author on several peer-reviewed journal articles and named as an inventor on several US and Foreign patents.
Dr. Williams has received numerous awards for her business and entrepreneurship efforts including: 2019 Charlotte 50 Most Influential Women recognition. 2018 Athena International Young Professional Award, 2017 Alumni Achiever Award - Winston-Salem State University, 2017 Charlotte Chamber Young Professional Entrepreneur Award Winner, 2017 Charlotte Business Journal 40 under 40 Award, 2017 Leading Women Entrepreneur-NJ Monthly Magazine, The Charlotte Business Women of the Year Fellowship, 2014, and the 2015 40 under 40 Young Alumni Award from Winston-Salem State University.
Dr. Williams also serves the Charlotte Community as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce. She is also the Chair Heal Charlotte a non-profit dedicated to holistic community change.
