Mathematics and Science Education Network
The Mathematics and Science Education Network at Winston-Salem State University is comprised of our well known program, the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program, and includes our new and innovating STEMulate programs. All the programs in this network are focused on students from underrepresented populations who typically would not be exposed to or have not been prepared to pursue STEM activities at life altering levels. Explore our programs on these pages and join us in expanding the possibilities of a young person's life in your home or community.
The program recruits students to focus on mathematics and science careers and targets students from underrepresented populations who have not been prepared to pursue high-level mathematics and science-based courses.
"STEM"ulate programs are engaging, encouraging and expand students minds with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. These programs provide both a fun and interactive learning experience while challenging students to enhance their knowledge of various STEM topics. Come let us "STEM"ulate your young scholars' minds.
Parental commitment is a vital component to the success of students involved in the WSSU NC-MSEN Pre-College Program. The Parent Involvement for Excellence (PIE) Club meets periodically at WSSU during Saturday Academy. Attendance at these meetings affords parents opportunities to stay abreast of upcoming program events and participate in student activities. The PIE Club plays a vital role in raising funds to support Pre-College Program activities.
