Parking

All University parking areas are zoned, reserved and/or restricted. Parking is prohibited except in lots, streets and areas indicated. Legal parking at all times is restricted to spaces marked for parking. All parked vehicles must display a WSSU parking permit appropriate for the zone where parked. Visitor/Guests should acquire the proper parking permits to avoid citations.

All students and employees, whether full time or part time, must register vehicles driven on campus. No student or employee may register a vehicle which is not owned by him or her, his or her spouse, child, parent, or guardian. A vehicle is considered registered ONLY when the permit is displayed. See campus map for instructions on how to display your permit.

Permits must be clearly visible at ALL times. Permits should be hung (faculty/staff) from the rear view mirror or placed (students) on the lower left side inside windshield. Permits are removable. It is the owner's responsibility to secure items in their vehicles at all times. Should you need to replace your permit the cost will be at the prorated amount at the time of purchase.

Handicapped employees and students must purchase a WSSU parking permit and display the State of North Carolina or a valid handicapped license plate in order to park in handicapped spaces in zoned parking areas. For those employees and students that wish to purchase a WSSU handicap permit, you must register your state issued HC Placard in the WSSU Campus Parking Office.

One permit per person. No permits for second vehicles. Employee permit charges for new and terminating employees are prorated on a monthly basis, partial months count as full months. Student permit charges are prorated monthly. Summer school permits are not prorated.

Regulations are enforced 24 hours per day 7 days per week in handicapped, fire lane, reserved, and resident student spaces. After 5:00 pm individuals with a current permit may park anywhere on campus except for areas listed in the previous sentence.  All citations must be paid for within in 10 days or will be considered overdue.
