Graduation Services is your source for information in preparation for graduation and commencement exercises.
Degrees are conferred three times a year:
- May 15, 2015 (for the spring semester), and
- August 8, 2014 (for summer sessions), and
- December 19, 2014 (for the fall semester).
Candidates for graduation can check requirements and graduation policies, access forms, check deadlines and get current information about graduation related procedures and events.
In order to proceed with commencement you must:
- apply for graduation online through your Banner RAMS Online account
- pay outstanding debt to Student Account & Cashiering and
- meet with your academic advisor to ensure you are on track

Undergraduate Student Graduation Application Process
Undergraduate students must officially apply for graduation with the Office of the Registrar through Banner RAMS Online. The deadline for applying for graduation for Spring 2015 was November 10, 2014. If you were unable to apply for spring 2015 graduation please contact your Department Chair and Graduation Services immediately via email at (email@example.com).
In addition to the general education requirements, major and minor requirements, a candidate for a baccalaureate degree must meet Academic, Residence and Catalog requirements and regulations in effect at the time of initial enrollment. (Refer to the Undergraduate Catalog at the time of initial enrollment.)
All degree candidates, including transfer students, are allowed six years from the date of enrollment at the university to complete the curriculum under the requirements and regulations in effect at the time of enrollment. After six years, the current requirements and regulations must be met. For this purpose, the six years will be counted from August 1 of the year of enrollment to August 1 of the year of graduation. Substitutions and/or changes in course requirements must be recommended by the Department Chair and approved by the Dean.
Graduate Student Graduation Application Process and Catalog Policy
Graduate students must officially apply for graduation with their department. The deadline for applying for graduation for spring 2015 was November 10, 2014. In addition to degree requirements, a candidate for a graduate degree must meet Academic, Residence and Catalog requirements and regulations in effect at the time of initial enrollment. Participation in Commencement Rehearsal is mandatory. Commencement Rehearsal will be held at Bowman Stadium (weather permitting) on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Candidates should arrive for rehearsal no later than 12:30 p.m..
All students should bring their caps with tassel to rehearsal. Doctoral Candidates should also bring their hoods so that the Hooding Ceremony can be rehearsed. Students who submitted graduation applications for the summer and fall 2014 and degrees were conferred, are invited to participate in Spring 2015 Commencement Exercises. Registration to participate in the Spring 2015 Commencement is required.
If you are planning to participate in the 2015 Commencement ceremony, it is important that you RSVP. We must receive your RSVP in order to plan for the ceremony. Your RSVP will be compared against a list of cleared graduates to ensure you have applied for graduation and satisfied all degree and financial requirements. RSVP today!
