Biography

Dr. Beau DJ Gaitors is a native of Chicago, IL. He comes to WSSU from Tulane University, where he completed his Ph.D. in Latin American History. Dr. Gaitors holds a B.A. in International Relations and a B.A. in Africana Studies from Brown University (2008). He received his M.A. in Colonial Latin American History from Purdue University (2010). Dr. Gaitors completed a postdoctoral fellowship through the Consortium of Faculty Diversity. During the postdoctoral fellowship he taught courses in Afro-Latin American History, Environmental History of Latin America and Modern Latin American History at Muhlenberg College. Dr. Gaitors is the author of several book review essays, and he is the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, which he carried out in Mexico from 2013 to 2014.
