Dr. Hall was born and brought up in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN)at Winston-Salem State University. Dr. Hall earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) at Walden University. Dr. Hall specialty area is obstetrical nursing, and her research interest is in simulation.
Dr. Hall started working at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston, Salem North Carolina as an obstetrical nurse for more than 33 years. Her previous duties was in management. Dr. Hall was responsible for staffing of the units, assuring staff competency, orientation for new nurses, triaging patients and preparing staff for a successful Magnet survey. Dr. Hall is multifaceted in women’s health such as, being certified in Fetal Monitoring, Childbirth Educator, and Inpatient Obstetric Nursing. In 2007, Dr. Hall received various awards such as: remarkable 45 at Forsyth Medical Center and nominated for the Great 100.
Currently Dr. Hall is a member of America Women Health Obstetrical Neonatal Nurse (AWHONN), American Nurse Association (ANA), America Nurse Simulation Council, National League of Nursing (NLN), and Foster Parent Association. Among the most satisfying experiences for Dr. Hall is being a foster mom, passion for reaching out to the less fortunate, supporting mothers in bad situations, and being a mentor to adolescents, encouraging them to maximize their potential, and promoting professional growth.
Dr. Hall is currently the maternity coordinator for Maternal Newborn. She serves as the curriculum chair for the Division of Nursing. Dr. Hall is presently involved as a volunteer mentor to assist high school students in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina school district, and serve as a mentor for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in New Careers in Nursing.
