Biography

Dr. Pittsley is an associate professor of Exercise Science at Winston-Salem State University. He has been the program coordinator for Exercise Science since 2004. He grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. After completing a childhood and two college degrees in the nearly the coldest place in the lower 48 United States (Superior, WI & Duluth, MN), he moved to Lexington, Kentucky to complete a doctorate in Exercise Physiology. His research interests include the cardiovascular and hormonal responses to exercise. A former college runner, he still enjoys running. He also bikes to work daily and enjoys flat-water kayaking. Dr. Pittsley's non-exercise hobbies include listening to audio books, maintaining several marginally in-tune guitars, and spending time with his two toddler sons (Ayden and Syan).
