Rehabilitation Counseling - Curriculum

Rehabilitation CounselingThe Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling (MSRC) curriculum may be completed in a minimum of two (2) years of full-time study (at least 9-15 credit hours per semester) and one 10- week summer session (9-12 credit hours total). In addition to completing the coursework for obtaining an MSRC degree, students are also required to complete a 100 clock-hour practicum and a 600 clock-hour internship in an approved internship site under university supervision. The internship can be completed in two semesters with 300 hours per semester.



Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the degree program for the Master of Rehabilitation Counseling, candidates will:

· Demonstrate the necessary academic knowledge and skills needed to successfully complete the
  national Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) exam

· Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation processes based on holistic and
  comprehensive services

· Assess, analyze, plan, and implement the facilitation of services to people with disabilities

· Utilize technology to assess and implement appropriate services

· Demonstrate appropriate communication skills in counseling activities and establish an
  effective counseling relationship with individuals with disabilities and with disability groups

· Demonstrate ethical, professional behavior that upholds a sound, consumer-oriented
  philosophy, and facilitate interactions with consumers that exemplify multicultural
  understanding and respect for diversity
