WSSU establishes Ram Relief Fund in response to Hurricane Florence
As North Carolina works to recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Florence, Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) has established an emergency grant program to support students who have financial needs as a result of the storm.
The Ram Relief Fund will provide students with documented needs as a result of Florence with one-time grants of up to $500.
“We know that many of our students hail from eastern North Carolina and come from families who are facing flooding, power outages, and storm damage,” said WSSU Chancellor Elwood L. Robinson. “The Ram Relief Fund will provide emergency grants to students whose families are struggling to rebuild their lives. For some, these grants may make the difference between completing their education or being forced to drop out of college.”
