We are only halfway through April 2023 and Winston-Salem State University students, faculty, and staff are unleashing their genius on our campus, at the North Carolina House of Representatives, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Here’s a quick overview.

CIAA Champions Outdoor Track Team and Men’s Basketball visited Raleigh to receive honors and accolades from the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Winston-Salem State University students unleash their genius during Scholarship Week 2023

Our students unleashed their genius in poster celebrations, panels, creative works, exhibits, and departmental showcases that highlight the excellent work performed in collaboration with faculty.

The department of communications and media studies held a 72 Hour Film Festival. Many students who have won scholarships had the opportunity to meet their donors and say thank you for their generosity in speeches and in person.

Alumni gave students hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services. As part of WSSU Scholarship Week 2023, alumni Khendr'a Reid '13 and Adebowale Asaya '08, provided current Rams with hands-on instruction.

WSSU to host author, actress Tabitha Brown in next Slater Speaker Series – ‘cause that’s our business’

Winston-Salem State University’s Slater Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, will host author and actress Tabitha Brown. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on April 17 at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem. It is free to attend; however, tickets are required.
