Phi Beta Sigma presents check from Sleep Out

The Delta Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. presents a $1,300 check to Samaritan Ministries for its annual Penny Campaign.  The funds were raised during the fraternity's 27th Annual Homeless Awareness Week held on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. Phi Beta Sigma introduced the program to the WSSU campus in 1996 as part of its Social Action Program. For the last 26 years, on the Friday before Thanksgiving, fraternity members have slept in cardboard boxes, sleeping bags and tents to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness.
