WSSU IMC team wins three Collegiate Advertising Awards

Winston-Salem State University’s Office of Integrated Marketing Communications was named among the top in the nation in the 2023 Collegiate Advertising Awards Program.

The Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) is an elite program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools across the nation.

WSSU IMC won a silver award in the special video production category for an entry title WSSU Ram Reveal, which featured the unveiling of the new mascot. IMC also earned a silver award for a billboard design titled, Rams Take Charge – Be brilliant.

IMC won a bronze award for the campaign rollout video, Rams Take Charge.

The 2023 CAA program received many entries from the United States and Canada representing small community colleges to large schools and universities. Submissions were reviewed by a national panel of industry experts, with a possibility of 100 total points. WSSU IMC’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories.  

Awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

“It is an honor for the content that we produce for the elevation of Winston-Salem State University’s brand to be nationally recognized among the best in the country,” said Haley Gingles, WSSU chief marketing officer. “The IMC team is committed to a high level of excellence and these awards are reflective of their professional pedigree.”

Representing all areas of communications, medias, marketing, advertising and promotions, the 2023 Collegiate Advertising Awards program contained some of the best advertising projects arguably in the world.  The Collegiate Advertising Awards is pleased to recognize the outstanding creative achievements of Winston-Salem State University.
