WSSU to observe Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2 with 'Fuel Our Future' initiative

Winston-Salem State University will participate in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2 with a focused call to action: support students through its “Fuel Our Future” campaign. The university is emphasizing the need for unrestricted gifts, which provide flexible funding to address student support initiatives and the institution’s most urgent priorities.

Giving Tuesday, established in 2012, has evolved into a global movement that encourages individuals and organizations to redirect attention from post-holiday consumerism to purposeful giving.

For WSSU, the day marks the beginning of its year-end fundraising period, underscoring the importance of philanthropy in sustaining student success and institutional strength.

University officials note that unrestricted contributions are essential to ensuring students have access to the resources necessary to remain on track academically and complete the semester successfully.

Funds raised through the campaign will support programs that help reduce financial strain, enhance the academic experience and bolster student well-being.

WSSU is encouraging alumni, faculty, staff, students and supporters to participate on Dec. 2 and help advance the university’s mission by investing in the success of its students.
