WSSU launches first Spring Day of Giving April 7–8

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is proudly hosting its inaugural Spring Day of Giving April 7 to 8 and invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends to support scholarships, programs and initiatives across campus.

The 24-hour campaign, which begins at noon on April 7 and is themed “Let’s RISE Together,” will build on the university’s “We Are RISING” momentum and focus on advancing student success, academic excellence and long-term institutional impact.

As part of the effort, all gifts made to existing endowments will be matched dollar-for-dollar through Title III funds, doubling the impact of donor contributions and helping to create lasting support for future generations of students.

“Spring Day of Giving is a powerful opportunity for the Ram community to come together and invest in what matters most,” said Titus Lee, director of annual giving. “When Rams unite, the impact is immediate and far-reaching.”

Donors may direct their gifts to areas of personal significance, including scholarships, academic programs and student support services. And WSSU leaders are encouraging support for several priority areas, including faculty development, veterans and their families, band and choir programs, research-focused endowments and the recently reopened Diggs Art Gallery.

Throughout the 24-hour period, matching challenges and collective participation are expected to unlock additional funding, amplifying the impact of each gift.

University officials said in a statement the campaign reflects WSSU’s longstanding commitment to opportunity, innovation and service.

“WSSU has always been defined by its people,” the statement said. “From preparing the next generation of leaders to expanding access and opportunity, the Ram Family continues to move the university forward.”

The Spring Day of Giving aims to strengthen resources that support student achievement and ensure continued growth and success for the university community. Please visit the Day of Giving website to make a gift.
