Science of Teaching and Learning Resources
Faculty Learning Communities are being formed at WSSU in order to create connections between individuals across all disciplines who are interested in candidly discussing best practices regarding a topic of mutual interest. The evidence-based teaching (EBT) faculty learning community would be of particular interest to science faculty pursuing a course redesign.- EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology. EDUCAUSE actively engages with colleges and universities, corporations, foundations, government, and other nonprofit organizations to further the mission of transforming higher education through the use of information technology.
- National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides leadership in using information technology to redesign learning environments to produce better learning outcomes for students at a reduced cost to the institution. Their site is especially informative and contains their six models for course redesign, course redesign planning resources, and course redesign exemplars.
- CFE 100+ Teaching Tips Blog from UNC Chapel Hill Center for Faculty Excellence provides tips for teaching large classes specifically. However, the information is extremely useful for those interested in teaching any course well.
- Purdue University IMPACT Program provides information about the course transformation project at Purdue University.
