Since 1974, the Department of Liberal Studies has met the needs of students who are interested in a broad liberal educational experience grounded in the theories and methods of interdisciplinary study. Our programs equip students to critically and creatively explore new areas of knowledge that spans disciplinary boundaries. In addition to our signature Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree which provides students with the opportunity to explore over ten areas of study, we also offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in African and African American Studies in addition to courses in the areas of philosophy and religious studies. Our faculty and staff are well-equipped to assist all students and to provide mentoring and advising for an enlightening and successful educational journey.
