The Ideas Lab @ The College is a hub of innovation and creativity at the heart of academic community of Winston-Salem State University. Bringing together students, faculty, staff and knowledge partners from across the academy and the community to share ideas, practices, and new ways of thinking in an experimental and experiential environment, The Ideas Lab @ The College powers the movement of ideas to reality in advancing the broad educational mission of Winston-Salem State University.

The Ideas Lab @ The College offers a distinctive approach to educational innovation that is ideas led, student focused, faculty designed, and community engaged. Through this approach, The Ideas Lab @ The College serves as a catalyst for creativity in advancing new models for learning, teaching, research, and knowledge production for a dynamic 21st century university.

Located in the historic Carolina Hall, The Ideas Lab @ The College, features an open workspace designed to facilitate collaboration and ignite creativity between faculty and students across disciplines as well as knowledge partners from the broader Winston-Salem community and the academy. Equipped with the latest multimedia technology designed to speed and scale idea generation and delivery, The Ideas Lab @ The College is an ideal convening space for experimental classes, seminars, faculty office hours, meetings, workshops, and events.

The Ideas Lab @ The College is the latest development of a broader learning innovation network at Winston-Salem State University which includes the Center for Design Innovation (CDI), Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), and University College and Lifelong Learning (UCaLL). This innovative cluster harnesses the energy of creativity and collaboration in accelerating novel and complementary learning environments that grow ideas, enhance learning, and realize new futures for students, scholars, and society.
