Family Highlights
Join us for Chancellor Elwood L. Robinson’s official welcome to parents and guardians of WSSU's newest class. Dr. Robinson will speak about the history of WSSU and the multitude of opportunities that the university provides for students to transform themselves and their world.
Join us for food, fun, music and more at the Family Day Cookout. Immediately afterwards is the “Meet the Rams” ceremony where you can meet members of the football team, the cheerleading squads, and the “Red Sea of Sound” marching band.
This is an opportunity for parents to hear from university officials representing enrollment management, financial aid, student accounts, campus safety, and more, who will answer questions and address concerns.
Meet WSSU staff and take part in some fun and games for our littlest future Rams and light refreshments for our Ram Parents.
This most memorable rite of passage ceremony marks your arrival as a new freshman to the WSSU family, as well as your entry into young adulthood.

Through the Archway Ceremony
The Through the Archway Ceremony marks your official transition from a “lamb” to a “Ram.” First-year students engage in a procession through WSSU’s historical arches, while being cheered on by university officials, faculty, staff, Legacy Leaders, and student government representatives, and proud alumni.
