January 2020
Emotions arise within ourselves – through our complex brain circuitry that we sometimes call 'wiring.' No one else is responsible for our emotions – we own them, and we must be aware of them in order to manage them, recognize them in others, and develop relationships. When triggered, your brain gets fired up and you might feel afraid, anxious, angry, shocked, or sad. You may also feel happy, joyful, excited, and fulfilled. The hardest work is managing the emotions that get in the way of your best performance.
Are you thinking about getting a Master’s degree or a Ph.D.? Almost all applicants to graduate school must take the GRE test as part of their application process. In this workshop we will uncover the very best tips so that you will be prepared when you take the GRE test.
There are many internships available to college students that will help pay the bills and offer valuable work experience to put on your resume. We review some of the most promising ones, specifically for WSSU students.

In this first of a two-part series, we examine some of the ways money can help you to survive. We explore the effects of when money is borrowed (i.e. “debt”) including student loans and credit card use, how and why you should balance your monthly budget, and how and why you should save money.
March 2020
In this second of a two-part series, we uncover how money can be made to work for you. How can you maximize the money that you do have? What ways can you grow your money to make it last longer? We also look briefly at the most common forms of investments.
