Virtual Voices - 2021 Commencement
An exciting online event to commend the hard work and achievements of the Class of 2021!
This celebration allows family & friends the opportunity to view their graduates and virtually share the experience. Graduates will be invited to customize their celebration slide and upload a short congratulatory video.
- Winston-Salem State University is excited to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of summer and fall 2021!
- Please note that participation in the celebration does not indicate all degree requirements have been met.

Virtual Commencement – The Graduating Class of 2021
- Graduates, you can create a customized celebration slide and a 10-12 second video for the event.
- Your family and friends from across the globe can enjoy this virtual celebration from their phones, tablets or desktop computers.
- Everyone can share the moment with family and friends in chat rooms, watch groups, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media.
- You will be able to easily search for your slide and video and can also search for your friends’ videos.
- To protect the privacy of our graduates, only graduates who customize their celebration slide will be displayed.
- Graduates who do not respond will not be displayed.
A Celebration for Graduates, Family and Friends
- Graduates can share these special moments with family and friends in chat rooms, watch groups, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media.
- Graduates and family members will be able to browse and view a graduate's customized celebration slide as well as photos and message from fellow graduates.
- To protect the privacy of our graduates, only graduates who customize their celebration slide will be displayed.
- Graduates who do not respond will not be displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The virtual event provides an opportunity for graduates who an unable to attend in-person or who do not feel comfortable with large congregate gatherings. Class of 2021 graduates may choose to participate in both the in-person and virtual ceremonies.
The in-person ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex, 414 Deacon Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC (next to the LJVM Coliseum). Graduates will not need tickets for their guests.
Yes, please order your cap and gown in preparation for the fall 2021 commencement exercises. We encourage you to wear your cap, gown, and other regalia or favorite WSSU spirit gear for your StageClip head shot and video. While cap and gown is encouraged, it is not required.
Herff Jones - Caps and gowns (regalia), class rings, and announcements may be purchased online at Herff Jones. You can have your order shipped to the bookstore or to your home. Shipments to your home carry a shipping charge of $15.00." If you chose to ship to the bookstore you will not have your cap and gown until early May. If you choose to ship to your home you will have it within 2 1/2 weeks. To avoid shipping costs, plan to order your regalia as soon as possible.

- There will be no exclusions prohibiting verified graduates from participating.
