Biography

Dr. Aaron Keith McCullough was appointed Pre-Award Administrator within the Office of Sponsored Programs at Winston-Salem State University in April 2015. In this role, he is responsible for executing the entire range of pre-award administrative functions associated with sponsored programs. He serves as a liaison between the Office of Sponsored Programs and other administrative and academic units, processes proposals for submission to external agencies, and completes budgetary reviews. He assists the Associate Director with pre-award workshop and seminar planning and development. Dr. McCullough negotiates and prepares budgets in collaboration with principal investigators as well as manages multiple projects within a deadline-driven environment. He also coordinates proposal preparation, routing, and submission to external sponsors, interprets external sponsor guidelines and procedures for accurate proposal preparation, analyzes administrative problems and recommends appropriate administrative actions, and exercise best practices of sponsored project management.

Dr. McCullough holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from North Carolina State University. He has a Master’s of Science degree in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University. He received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
