Biography

Adam D. Nichols earned Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Westfield State University in Westfield, MA and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs from Salem State University in Salem, MA. Adam joins the WSSU and Ram family having held Hall Director positions at Framingham State University (also the Rams!) in Framingham, MA and Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.

Adam’s passions in higher education and residence life fall in first-year student retention, leadership development, campus and community involvement, diversity and inclusion, working with faculty, and living-learning communities. Hailing from New England, Adam is really excited to be here in the south and experience everything that Winston-Salem and North Carolina have to offer, especially in the snow-less winters!

When Adam’s not in his office, you’ll probably find him either hanging out with his dog Desmond, running somewhere in Winston-Salem, doing Yoga, cooking dinner, volunteering in the local community, watching Netflix, HGTV, or the Food Network, or just exploring new parts of town. Feel free to stop by and say hi!
